Escape of 10 Dell Latitude and XPS 12 Windows
Windows 8 to around the corner is not surprising that they are looking at hints to upcoming tablets appearing online. The recent leaks and rumors are Dell and there are no less than two products that could reach the market in the fourth quarter of this year: a 10-inch Dell Latitude 10slate and XPS 12convertible Tablet PC with a 12-inch screen swivel mechanism that resembles the Dell Inspiron Duo from late 2010.
One thing before you take a look at these two tablets: have to have all this information with a little grain and salt, as there is no official confirmation yet and two leakage seems to be from different sources within Dell (check the source face for example in the photos attached to this post), what someone could simply have played a joke on us.
It’s a tablet of normal slate based on the most recent platform Intel Clover Trail Atom, a system of low power dual-core performance less than stellar (when together with Windows 7 that is). Personally I don’t like atoms at all, and that is because the trade off performance of low power consumption doesn’t seem to benefit anyone (takes longer to perform tasks, which is why we’re losing the battery nothing and bothers you).
But that doesn’t mean that we have to dismiss still 10 latitude. The design is simple normal, so do not expect something you woo when you remove the product from its box. Now return to the hardware, I have to say this is a Tablet quite svelte (10.8 x 7.0 x 0.4 inches dimensions and weight of 1.57 lb) whereas is carrying out an x 86 CPU and not a model of arm. I just hope that does not depend on the vents and fans of any type of refrigeration that have no place in a modern slate tablet.

Other niceties include 2 GB of RAM, a unit optional 128 GB SSD, 8MP rear handle and front 2 MP front of the webcam, two options of battery (2/4cell 30 Cesar 60 hours for 6-8 and 10-12 hours of battery). Ah and nearly forgotten to tell you about the screen’s 10.1-inch HD ready resolution (1366 x 768 px). So this is not quite the ice breaker tablet Dell, but you will get the options of meat with some features that might appeal to business customers of security: TPM, slot lock, fingerprint & Fingerprint reader, BitLocker protection on data Dell and Essentials. No word about price and availability, as it is a filtered product…
The second tablet, a tablet as convertible more PC, the Dell XPS 12 premium, is a product of form factor of 12.5 inches with a swivel mechanism that uses a frame around the screen (unknown resolution) rather than a great joint. I like the design of hardware as it was used once before Dell Inspiron Duo, but now we could get some powerful hardware inside this thing, the type needed by active cooling. 12 All XPS will be only 8 to 20 mm thick and weighs 1.4 kg, which is territory of ultrabook.

That, of course, that this will not be your entertainment tablet, but a workhorse laptop with the ability to transform into a laptop with a full size keyboard at any time. Given that the XPS brand is a series of Dell Premium this will come with an machining of aluminium and carbon chassis, edge to edge Gorilla glass and black and silver finish. Among the technologies incorporated this thing should mention instant, always-connected access updated and aware of location, Intel Smart Connect and Intel Rapid Start (use of a small SSD at juncture with a classical mechanical SSD for quick start).
Personally would see myself using a product as Dell XPS 12 if weight, battery, performance and prices fall in territory of ultrabook of second generation, but only if it is as good as promises of Microsoft Windows 8. I’m tired of carrying all my devices that complement themselves (without too much overlapping of functions) and their Chargers.
